Welcome to the first post ever on Bess’ Book Corner.
This review is on Twisted Love by Ana Huang. She is a well-known author in the romance world. I picked this book up based on the recommendations on TikTok. I am a sucker for love.
I will always end with a fun fact about dogs. This is, after all, Bess’ Book Corner.
Please let me know your thoughts on this book. Also, please put down your book recommendations for me to review!
Set in modern-day Washington, DC, a love that was never supposed to happen—her neighbor; his best friend’s sister. Alex Volkov, a feared billionaire, is forced to watch over Ava all the while he chases the taste for revenge: Ava Chen, a lighthearted college student pursuing her love for photography at Thayer University. Ava has a forgotten childhood that is trapped only in her nightmares. When the secrets and revenge are revealed, will love and forgiveness be enough?
I adored this book. Ana Huang did an amazing job. I love her writing style, it was easy to read, and I immersed myself in this book. The pace of the book flowed and I did not feel I needed to re-read a page to comprehend what was happening. The plot was suspenseful and engaging. The spice was not overdone. It was left to the imagination but did not gross me out. The character development was good. I felt I needed a bit more backstory earlier in the book. I thought the theme would be love. However, that is not the case. I think the theme is about forgiveness. It is easy to forgive someone you love when they have done wrong. But what happens when they betray everything you stand for? Can you forgive them then? Can you forgive yourself? What are your thoughts?
Overall, I loved it and went back to get more of her books. I do like how all the books are stand-alone. However, they are intertwined with each other. It is a different approach to romance series. Love is pure, but what happens when the fairytale is just that, a fairy tale?

Fun Fact: Did you know that dogs can smell 40 times better than humans?
Makes perfect sense why Bess can track the rabbit that just ran across the yard.
